Passenger wins Rs 35,000 in compensation from airline after 23-year legal battle over hair in food
Mr. P. Sundarapariporanam, an air traveller who booked Air India flight IC 574 to travel on July 26, 2002 from Colombo to Chennai, had the worst day of his life when he discovered some hair strands in his sealed food packet. During the flight, he was served a sealed food packet, and upon opening it, he noticed a few strands of hair in his meal, which made him feel nauseous. To make things worse, he allegedly couldn’t file a complaint because there were no complaint boxes or forms available, and the flight staff didn’t listen to him either.
