The 815-metre-long Ajabpur Railway Over Bridge ( ROB) built before the stipulated time and with less than the estimated cost might help in solving traffic jam problem on the busy Haridwar bye-pass road. The work on the project had started in February 2017 with an estimated cost of Rs 70. 5 crore. The structure, was, however completed some days before the stipulated time limit ended and the cost involved in the project stands at Rs 50 crore.
The chief engineer, National Highway (NH), Public Works Department (PWD), Hari Om Sharma said that the ROB has four lanes and it is 19 metre in width. He added that the viaduct of the structure is 622 metre and it has 53 metre approach from the ISBT side while 140 metre approach is on the Haridwar side.
