Only Centre BMRCL’s ‘appropriate government’ for industrial disputes: Karnataka HC
BENGALURU: Turning down the contention of the state government and the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) that the state is the “appropriate government for any industrial dispute”, the Karnataka High Court ruled that the central government is the ‘appropriate government”.
Therefore, the state government has no competence to notify the services of BMRCL as ‘Public Utility Services’ and ‘Essential Service’ under the relevant laws, the high court added.
