THE GHAGGAR bridge, connecting Trans-Ghaggar sectors from the side of Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 3, is out of bounds for commuters till March 12 owing to repair works being carried out, effectively shifting all traffic load to a second Ghaggar bridge on Yamunanagar-Naraingarh National highway from the side of Old Panchkula Sector 1 near Majri Chowk light point. The repair on the bridge started on March 5.
The repair work has triggered massive jams, with thousands of vehicles, including roadways buses, private vehicles coming from Nahan in Himachal, Dehradun in Uttarakhand, Yamunanagar, Naraingarh, Raipur Rani, Barwala, often having to navigate through heavy, slow moving traffic on the second traffic. The situation gets worse during the morning and evening peak hours.
