Oil edges up on US stock decline, Mideast tensions
LONDON: Oil prices nudged higher on Wednesday, supported by a sharp fall in US crude stocks and tensions over Iran.
Brent crude futures were up 8 cents at $63.91 a barrel by 1018 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate crude was up 20 cents at $56.97 a barrel.
US crude stocks fell more than expected in the week to July 19, declining by 11 million barrels to 449 million, the trade group American Petroleum Institute said on Tuesday.
