NEW DELHI: State-run NTPC’s renewable energy capacity has topped 2GW (gigawatts) as the country’s largest power producer pivots from coal to green energy with a target of 35GW installed capacity by 2027. NTPC hit the milestone with the commissioning of a 92MW (megawatt) floating solar project, the largest such project, on the reservoir of its Kayamkulam gas power station in Alappuzha district of Kerala.
The company has 22 projects with a total capacity of 4 GW of renewable energy capacity under implementation, while 5 GW capacity is under tendering.
