NHAI tightens contract norms to curb delays, boost highway project quality
New Delhi: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has updated RFP (request for proposal) provisions to improve quality of highway projects, curb delays, and cut lifecycle costs by tightening contractor qualification norms, strengthening execution compliance, and boosting financial transparency.
Stringent conditions in various clauses under the RFP will help to ensure that only technically capable and experienced contractors qualify for the implementation of national highway projects, ministry of road transport and highways (MoRTH) said in a statement on Wednesday.
