The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is hopeful of completing in a couple of months the acquisition of land for the Pollachi Road widening project.
The work is getting delayed mainly because of land acquisition, an official said.
The widening works were earlier expected to be completed by this month.
The NHAI is widening the road for 26 km and making it into a concrete, four-lane road.
The widening needs to be done for a short length. But the land acquisition (26 hectares) should be completed to widen the road fully, the official said.
