NHAI built elevated road for UER-II on listed waterbody, NGT informed

New Delhi: The Delhi Wetland Authority has informed the National Green Tribunal (NGT) that the land on which the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) built an elevated road for the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) corridor in Goyla Khurd village, south-west Delhi, is officially recorded as a listed waterbody.

In its submission to the tribunal, the authority said construction on waterbody land is not permitted and that the pond is part of the notified list of wetlands to be protected in the capital.
