New power substation in Ambattur to cater to data centres
Chennai: Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation (Tantransco) will soon establish a gas-insulated 400 kV substation at the cost of 1,045 crore to provide reliable power supply to existing and proposed data centres in Ambattur and to improve the overall power quality at the industrial estate and neighbourhood.
The state govt recently passed a GO granting administrative sanction to Tantransco to carry out tariff-based competitive bidding process.
