Navi Mumbai International Airport completes operational readiness trials for December opening
Mumbai: Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) completed an extensive Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer (ORAT) programme involving almost twice-a-week live trials over the past year, as it prepares to commence commercial operations on Dec 25, said the airport operator on Saturday.
Passenger volumes during these exercises varied based on specific trial objectives, ranging from around 50 participants to more than 1,000 trial passengers during peak simulations, NMIA said. ORAT is the structured programme that makes an airport “ready to operate” by testing infrastructure, technology, staff, and procedures under real-world conditions.
