National Highways Authority widens service road after Hosur Road in Bengaluru collapses
Bengaluru: Days after the collapse of a stretch of Hosur Road (NH-44) at Chandapura during the construction of a vehicular overpass Thursday, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said it has initiated measures to ease congestion in the area.
An NHAI official said the service road on the Bengaluru–Hosur side is being widened to facilitate smoother traffic flow. “The work will be completed by Feb 9, after which Hosur-bound vehicles will be diverted onto the service road. On the opposite carriageway, where the incident occurred, construction of the retaining wall is under way. Once completed, traffic towards Bengaluru will be restored,” the official said.
