Mumbai airport closed on Nov 20 for 6 hours due to annual runway maintenance work

Mumbai: No flights will land or take off at the Mumbai airport for six hours on Nov 20 as both the runways will be temporarily closed to carry out the annual post-monsoon runway maintenance work. Airlines have been informed about this closure in advance and no flights have been scheduled during the closure period.

The airport’s two runways will be temporarily non-operations from 11 am to 5 pm, said Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL). “The scheduled closure is to ensure safety, reliability and compliance with global aviation standards,” MIAL stated. A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued in advance, allowing airlines and other stakeholders to adjust flight schedules and manpower planning accordingly.
