MMRDA suspends 2 senior officials over major Mono rail disruption in Mumbai last week

Mumbai: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has suspended two senior officials following a major disruption in Mono rail services that left over hundreds of commuters stranded on Aug 19.

Source said that metropolitan commissioner Sanjay Mukherjee reviewed the standard operating procedure (SOP) followed during the incident and held Chief Engineer (Signal & Telecom) Manish Soni and Security Manager Rajiv Gite responsible for lapses.
