Mahanagar Gas Ltd tackled CNG crisis in Mumbai with support from Gujarat Gas and alternative supply measures, says managing director
Mumbai: During the CNG crisis between Sunday and Tuesday, Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) secured additional gas from Gujarat Gas and kept its four other city gate stations at Mahape, Ambernath, Taloja, and Raigad open. This ensured that cooking and commercial gas supplies remained unaffected and BEST buses received fuel for uninterrupted service, said MGL managing director Ashu Shingal.
The distributor also implemented a controlled mechanism across Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai, shutting down a few CNG stations, while ensuring that one or two pumps per neighbourhood remained operational, albeit at low pressure.
