Made in Bengaluru: Vande Bharat sleeper train set for New Year rollout?
BENGALURU: India’s first semi-high-speed sleeper train, Vande Bharat Sleeper, is getting closer to its rollout. Manufactured in Bengaluru by Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML), the train’s second rake was recently dispatched to Indian Railways.
Contrary to speculations, the rake is still in Bengaluru and arrived at SMVT railway station Monday morning. A senior official from Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai stated, “The second rake of Vande Bharat Sleeper has come out of BEML and is still at SMVT station. It will likely remain there for another two or three days.”
