Karnataka flags safety issues with e-mobility scheme, calls for stringent contract terms

Karnataka’s transport minister Ramalinga Reddy has written to Heavy Industries Minister HD Kumaraswamy calling for rigorous clauses in tenders for private operators of electric buses highlighting the frequent breakdowns, flash strikes by drivers and increase in accidents in Bengaluru.

Private operators are operating EV buses in Bengaluru and other cities under the gross cost contract (GCC) model under the FAME II and CESL and other projects.
