Demand for jet fuel in the country has slowed sharply so far in 2025, after four years of robust growth, as heavy rains, aircraft maintenance, a plane crash and border skirmishes weighed on air traffic.
Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) consumption fell in August for the second consecutive month, declining 2.9% year-on-year. For April-August, consumption increased only 1.3%, according to petroleum and natural gas ministry data. By contrast, ATF sales had expanded 9% in 2024-25.
