Jet Airways to start operating 75 planes by April-end: Govt
Jet AirwaysNSE 3.65 % has assured the government that it will be increasing the number of airborne aircraft to 75 by the end of April from 35 at present and that the number will not go below the current level, said a senior government official on Tuesday.
“The airline will come back to us with a firm plan by Monday-Tuesday next week. Once the plan is submitted, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will start working on approvals for these grounded planes to ensure that they fly as quickly as possible,” aviation secretary Pradeep Singh Kharola told reporters on Tuesday. He added that the grounded planes were in flying condition, adding that these numbers do not include five Boeing 737 MAX aircraft which have grounded due to technical reasons.
