Interior roads near Ambattur old terminus in disrepair

Chennai: Pothole-ridden interior roads near Ambattur Old Terminus have left residents fuming, as commuting through these roads has become unsafe and difficult. While arterial stretches were recently relaid with fresh black-topping, locals say several interior streets have been neglected for years, forcing motorists to crawl or divert through CTH Road.

Among the worst-affected stretches are Murugappa Reddy Street, First Cross Street, Kanniah Chetty Street, and Balaji Street in Vivekanandar Nagar. Locals said these roads serve as key connections to other neighbourhoods, but their poor condition makes commuting unsafe and extremely difficult. The roads are filled with potholes, forcing motorists to move slowly or take detours through CTH Road.
