IndiGo’s record order to have direct impact on job creation: Jyotiraditya Scindia
IndiGo’s record order of 500 aircraft will revolutionise India’s aviation market and have a direct impact on job creation, civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Tuesday.
“Every dollar invested in civil aviation yields $3.1 in terms of new growth… every direct job in civil aviation results in 6.1 indirect jobs in the sector and, therefore, there are tremendous dividends that accrue from an ever-expanding civil aviation sector,” Scindia told journalists a day after India’s largest airline inked a deal with Airbus for 500 planes of the A320neo family of aircraft.
