IndiGo’s Dibrugarh-Guwahati flight carrying Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma diverted to Agartala due to bad weather

An IndiGo flight from Dibrugarh to Guwahati, that had Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma onboard, was diverted to Agartala due to bad weather, the CMO said on Sunday.

The incident comes only a week after a Dibrugarh bound flight from Guwahati had ‘misapproached’ the runway at LGBI Airport during its landing. It had immediately taken off again, before finally touching down safely 15-20 minutes later in its second attempt.

On that flight, state cabinet minister Bimal Borah was among the passengers. He had said they panicked as it was a ‘rough landing’ in its first attempt.
