IndiGo to cut flights from December 8; targets full restoration by February 2026
IndiGo has told the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) that it will cut flights from December 8 to reduce ongoing disruptions and expects full restoration of stable operations by February 10, 2026, according to a PTI report. The update comes after days of large-scale cancellations that affected airports across the country.
The civil aviation ministry and DGCA held a review meeting with IndiGo after more than 500 flights were cancelled in a single day. The regulator said disruptions were linked to misjudgment and planning gaps during the rollout of the second phase of the Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms, which increased crew requirements beyond the airline’s estimates.
