IndiGo slapped with ₹20 lakh penalty by DGCA for pilot training lapses, airline to contest

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has imposed a penalty of ₹20 lakh on India’s largest airline IndiGo for alleged lapses in pilot training at Category C aerodromes, InterGlobe Aviation said on Wednesday.

The airline informed the exchanges that it received the communication on September 26, 2025.

According to the regulator, the violation pertains to the alleged failure to use qualified simulators for pilot training, a requirement under aviation safety regulations.
