IndiGo restores 2,200 daily flights; CEO Pieter Elbers says ‘worst is behind us’

IndiGo has restored its flight network to about 2,200 daily services on Thursday, CEO Pieter Elbers said, hours after a parliamentary panel sharply criticised the airline over operational disruptions that pushed Indian aviation close to a standstill in early December.

With the immediate recovery in place, Elbers said the country’s largest carrier is now focused on three priorities: strengthening resilience, conducting a root-cause analysis of the breakdown, and rebuilding systems to prevent a repeat.
