Indian firms like L&T, ITC step up green goals with bigger renewable, recycling, and net-zero commitments

Companies across sectors are increasingly stepping up sustainability efforts, in line with India’s pledge to reduce carbon emissions by the end of this decade as part of its larger commitment to eventually reach net zero.

L&T, ITC, NetApp, Titan Company and Genpact are among the companies that are increasing renewable energy adoption, reducing waste to landfills, cutting down on single-use plastic at workplaces, strengthening recycling efforts, minimising paper usage and encouraging employees to invest in electric vehicle (EV) options and participate in carpooling to minimise emissions, as well as driving tree-plantation and waterbody rejuvenation efforts.
