Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) has reported a Rs. 247.55-crore net profit for the third quarter of FY19. This is 87 per cent lower than the Rs. 1,949.69-crore profit reported in the corresponding quarter of FY18. “The decrease in profit is mainly due to inventory losses caused by falling crude prices and higher fuel and loss component,” said HPCL Chairman MK Surana.
