High mast lights sought at junctions on NH

Absence of high mast lights at the junction on Nasiyanur Bypass Road on the Salem – Cochin National Highway 544 is posing threat to road users during night hours.

Many spots on the road from Vijayamangalam toll plaza to Lakshmi Nagar in Bhavani have been identified as accident prone as over 50% of the accidents in the district have taken place on the stretch.

Many roads pass through the highway and absence of lighting during night hours is seen as one of the major reasons for accidents. Hence, motorists are demanding installation of high mast lights at the junctions on the highway.
