GPS signal trouble at Delhi Airport sparks concern; Mumbai, Bengaluru among several other airports hit

Several aircraft flying into Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport have recently encountered misleading navigation signals, the government confirmed on Monday.

Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu acknowledged the issue in Parliament after a question was raised during the first day of the Winter Session.

Responding to Rajya Sabha member S. Niranjan Reddy, the minister said that the problem surfaced when flights were preparing to land on Runway 10 using satellite-based guidance. According to him, pilots shifted to backup procedures the moment they noticed that the incoming signals did not match the actual route.
