Govt to decide on resuming intl flights once countries ease restrictions on foreigners’ entry: Hardeep Singh Puri
MUMBAI: India will take a decision on allowing international flights as soon as countries ease restrictions on entry of foreign nationals, the aviation minister said Sunday.
“Destination countries have to be ready to allow incoming flights” Hardeep Singh Puri, wrote on a post in Twitter, the social networking site he mostly used to make all announcements, including the resumption of domestic flights on May 25.
Puri had earlier said international operations would likely start before August. India allowed airlines to resume domestic operations from May 25, two months after keeping them suspended as part of a nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. International flights are still suspended, barring repatriation flights to ferry Indians or foreign nationals who want to return to their own countries. They are done via chartered planes and Vande Bharat flights, scheduled flights operated solely Air India
