Government Railway Police seek more security measures at railway stations in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Govt Railway Police (GRP) Bengaluru division called for more security measures, such as CCTV cameras, at railway stations after a passenger was sedated and robbed at SMVT station this month.

The 21-year-old passenger’s jewellery and cash worth Rs 35,000 were stolen on a train while he was unconscious. Police tracked down the robbers on Jan 7, five days after the incident, primarily due to CCTV evidence. According to GRP, two suspicious individuals were found loitering at SMVT station near Sanghamitra Express train.
