Government okays new rail line in Kutch to boost tourism

NEW DELHI: The Cabinet on Wednesday approved four major railway projects worth a total of Rs 12,328 crore, including a new rail line in Kutch to boost tourism by connecting the bordering Rann of Kutch, Harappan site Dholavira, Koteshwar temple, Narayan Sarovar and Lakhpat fort.

The Cabinet also approved the restructuring and extension of the PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme till March 2030, with a total outlay of Rs 7,332 crore. The government targets to bring another 50 lakh street vendor beneficiaries under the scheme.
