Government appoints Pankaj Agrawal as power secretary

Agrawal, a 1992-batch IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, as power secretary with effect July 1, replacing Alok Kumar who is retiring. Agrawal’s appointment, announced Tuesday late night, comes amid India’s G20 leadership, where energy transition deliberations are among the focus areas.

Chanchal Kumar, a 1992 Bihar cadre officer who is currently MD at National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corp, will take charge as secretary in the ministry of civil aviation from September 1.
