Fog, loose wheel and fallen container: How Air India Airbus A350 engine was damaged at Delhi airport

NEW DELHI: A single loose wheel that came off a container transporter, causing the container to become unstable and topple, is likely to have led to the incident witnessed in dense fog on Thursday morning at IGIA, when an Airbus A350 engine ingested a container.

A preliminary investigation by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has revealed that a Bird Worldwide Flight Services (BWFS) tug was transporting a few containers to an area near bay 242 at Delhi airport on Thursday morning.
