Flight from Chennai returns due to fire at Dhaka airport

Chennai: Flight operations between Chennai and Dhaka were disrupted on Friday following a fire incident at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, leading to temporary runway closure and flight diversions.

An IndiGo flight (6E1113) operating from Chennai to Dhaka, which departed at 1.31pm, was diverted to Kolkata due to the closure of Dhaka airport. The aircraft later returned to Chennai as flight 6E9051, with an expected arrival at 9.45pm, according to Airport Authority officials.
