Flight diverted to Mumbai after hoax bomb threat on Kuwait-Hyd route

Hyderabad: An Indigo flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad was diverted mid-air to Mumbai after the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Hyderabad received an email threat of a suicide-bomb attack. It turned out to be a hoax and passengers reached Hyderabad on another flight by the operator later. RGIA police registered a case on the complaint by GMR Airport officials.

In his complaint, Mohammed Abdul Wasay, general manager, security and vigilance, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), cited two messages received at 5.12 am and 7.04 am on Dec 2.
