FAA flight cut: Trump admin to slash 10% of flights at 40 major US airports if shutdown continues

US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warned on Wednesday that he will order a 10% cut in flights at 40 major US airports starting Friday if Congress fails to reach a deal to end the federal government shutdown.

The government shutdown, now in its 36th day and the longest in US history, has forced 13,000 air traffic controllers and 50,000 Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents to work without pay, Reuters reported.
