Energy minister warns power employees
Issuing a stern warning to the power employees who have threatened to go on three-day strike from Thursday night, Energy Minister AK Sharma said that contractual employees would lose their jobs if they do not attend duties and also threatened arrests under the NSA (National Security Act).
On the other hand, the Vidyut Karmachari Sangharsh Samiti upped the ante and declared that their talks with the government had failed and over two lakh employees would strike work.
However, essential services including power supply and generation have been kept out of the purview of the strike.
