DGCA investigates IndiGo flight disruptions; asks airline to submit mitigation plans
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday announced that it has launched an investigation into widespread flight disruptions at IndiGo, asking the airline to explain the reasons behind the operational breakdown and submit a mitigation strategy to reduce cancellations and delays going forward.
India’s largest airline faced a significant operational setback on Wednesday, cancelling over 100 flights across multiple airports and delaying several others, largely due to acute crew shortages. To stabilise schedules, the airline has introduced calibrated adjustments to its network for the next 48 hours in an effort to restore normal operations.
