Deocha-Pachami coal block

The West Bengal government has approved further sweetening of the rehabilitation package for land losers in Birbhum’s Deocha-Pachami coal block. Under the revised package, land losers would get a dwelling unit of 700 sq ft instead of 600 sq ft promised earlier. Those who don’t opt for these dwelling units will get Rs 7 lakh under the revised package instead of Rs 5 lakh. Moreover, the subsistence allowance for a year for affected families would be Rs 1.5 lakh instead of Rs 1 lakh announced earlier.
