Delhi–Dehradun Expressway trial begins: 31km stretch promises 100kmph glide; selfies, stunts, wrong-way riding mar Day 1

NEW DELHI: NHAI on Monday began trial run on the 31-km stretch of Delhi-Dehradun Expressway from Akshardham to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway intersection at Baghpat, bringing major relief to commuters from east and northeast Delhi, Noida, and Ghaziabad heading towards Saharanpur and Chandigarh. This mostly elevated section functions as a bypass to Delhi’s traffic congestion, allowing commuters to exit the city in less than 30 minutes.

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) officials said the entire 213-km access-controlled expressway will become fully operational this month, enabling people to travel to Dehradun and Mussoorie for winter tourism.
