The proposed conversion of Terminal 2 (T2) at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport into an all-international terminal has been postponed to early next year.
Sources familiar with the matter told TOI that Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) has decided to delay the conversion in order to avoid a repeat of the challenges faced during the winter season when essential infrastructure, such as the main CAT III runway (28/10), was closed for repairs due to foggy conditions. The conversion work for T2 is now expected to commence around April next year, following the conclusion of the winter season.
