Coal minister tells PSUs to boost rare mineral sampling
New Delhi: Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday asked public sector undertakings (PSUs) in the sector to increase overburden testing and conduct frequent sampling for rare earth elements and critical minerals.
During a review meeting of the sector, Reddy emphasised the need for stronger coordination with the environment ministry, which has been extending consistent support through timely approvals.
The meeting was also attended by the heads of Coal India Ltd and its subsidiaries, the Central Mine Planning & Design Institute, Singareni Collieries Company Ltd, and NLC India Ltd.
