Delhi’s peak power demand clocked 5,985 MW on Wednesday night that is the highest in the season till now.
A senior BSES official said that because of the weather, Delhi’s peak power demand had been a bit muted since the last few days but it has been steadily increasing for the past few days.
On their part, BRPL and BYPL successfully met the peak power demand of 2720MW and 1341 MW respectively. Last year, Delhi’s peak power demand had clocked 7,409 MW. In BRPL’s area, it was 3211 MW and 1686 MW respectively.
The official further said that after the end of lock-down on May 17 and the easing of restrictions, Delhi’s peak power has started increasing and the gap narrowed. Since easing of restrictions on May 18, power demand has increased by over 44 per cent.
