In a recent address to the Lok Sabha during the winter session of Parliament, the Union minister of civil aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted a concerning issue, stating, “Ninety-five per cent of the aircraft on ground in India today is because of engine supplier Pratt & Whitney”. He also added, “We have been in direct touch with Pratt & Whitney and conveyed to them that this situation is unacceptable because air traffic in India is growing exponentially.” Scindia’s revelation underscores the gravity of the situation, as aircraft on ground (AOG) points to deep-seated problem impacting the Indian aviation sector.
