Bengaluru: European aircraft maker Airbus has predicted that in the next 20 years, to cope with the expanding commercial aviation industry, India will need at least 25,000 additional pilots. Globally, five lakh new pilots will be required in the next 20 years.
Addressing the media at Aero India 2019, Mr Michael Chemouny, Head of Training Services, Airbus Commercial Aircraft, said, “As part of our continuing efforts to support the exponential growth of the civil aviation sector in India, Airbus has inaugurated a world-class training centre for commercial pilots and maintenance engineers in the National Capital Region of Delhi.”
