BEML gets Rs 414 crore top-up order from Bangalore Metro for six more trainsets

BEML Limited has secured an additional order worth Rs 414 crore from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). A company statement said the public sector undertaking will supply six more driverless metro trainsets (36 cars) for the Bangalore Metro Rail Project, Phase 2 (Reach 5), topping up the total order from 60 trainsets (360 cars) to 66 trainsets (396 cars).

“These additional trainsets will significantly expand the operational capacity of Bengaluru Metro,” Shantanu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director at BEML Limited, said. The new trainsets are expected to interface with the Siemens signaling system and will operate on the Yellow Line corridor.
