Barrier free electronic toll collection to roll out across India within a year: Gadkari

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday announced that the existing toll collection system will be discontinued within a year and replaced by a fully electronic mechanism aimed at ensuring a seamless experience for motorists on highways.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha during Question Hour, the minister said the new system has already been launched at 10 locations and will be extended nationwide within a year.
