Auditing firms to carry out intensive audit of TNPDCL

Chennai: Auditing firms empanelled with Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), or chartered accountants with experience in auditing power utilities, will soon carry out a strict and intensive audit of the circumstances that led to the poor financial status of the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (TNPDCL), whose debt stands at 60,000 crore.

The firm will study why TNPDCL and the erstwhile Tangedco could not recover its debts and identify the old debts that remain extant.
