Attempts to land fail, AI flight diverted to B’luru

Chennai: An Air India flight from Delhi to Chennai with 152 passengers on board was diverted to Bengaluru on Thursday night, as the flight’s attempts to land in Chennai failed. The flight later returned to its destination at 11.15pm and departed for Delhi an hour beyond the scheduled time.

The flight was originally scheduled to reach Chennai at 8.30pm. However, it could not land on the first attempt and had to go around after coming closer to the runway. Since the second attempt was also unsuccessful, the pilot diverted the flight to Bengaluru without making another attempt to land in Chennai.
